Second Hand Store
Return to JournalHere at Dodds & Shute we recognise that our actions have a big impact on the environment and we are trying to do everything we can to address this responsibly.
The impact of our business is in the import and distribution of new furniture - the use of virgin materials, the energy required to process and manufacture goods and then transport these around the world.
Whilst we try to limit our footprint by ensuring furniture is sourced from the most responsible companies available, we must acknowledge a footprint cannot be avoided entirely and there is more we can do to reduce this further.
This is why we have decided to dedicate a section of our website to a second hand shop. A platform where people can swap, share and sell items that they might no longer require but could find a new home to extend their life and spread happiness.
The purpose of this is to keep furniture out of landfill, avoiding unnecessary consumption and celebrate the imperfect. Items you might find in the store could be used, up-cycled or vintage. It’s important that sellers are honest about the condition of items and buyers are aware that items by their nature might not be in a perfect state.
Sellers and buyers please note that the cost of items shown in the store include a 10% handling fee for the admin and inventory of items. Delivery is not included but can be arranged if required or items can be collected from the seller. All sales are final unless the condition of items has been misrepresented by the seller.
We are only accepting second hand listings from reputable companies. No bespoke design or goods of unidentifiable origin. If manufactured by a reputable supplier then we are confident in the construction and quality of the manufacturing even though the condition of materials may have suffered.
If you are interested in selling any of your furniture please contact us at [email protected]
