Gemla was founded in the small village of Diö in 1861 and stands as Sweden’s oldest furniture manufacturer. The first in Sweden to introduce the Bohemian art of shaping and taming wood, the company is characterised by inventiveness, over the years developing a tradition of refining technique.

Products have a durability that last between 50-100 years and they offer a service for restoration. Upholstery in natural material- latex, horsehair and wool. Vegetable tanned leather or eco fabrics.
All surface treatment is either stain or waterbased laquer.

Electricity produced by the river next door. The minimal waste produced is used in the heating system as a complement.
