Our Trip to Stockholm Design Fair

Return to Journal

In February Dodds & Shute visited Stockholm design fair, the leading furniture fair in Scandinavia and our favourite industry trade show. Last year was our first trip to Stockholm and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we promised ourselves we would be returning. Partly this is because of our love for contemporary Scandi design and the brands that exhibit at the fair and also due to the fairs intimate size compared to larger shows such those in Milan and Paris.

Once again the show didn’t disappoint with plenty of exciting new designs on display but our highlight was spotting the design legend Eero Aarnio signing his iconic Bubble chair.

As the shows reputation continues to grow we only hope that the fair can maintain its current focus on exciting Scandi companies, our concern is that amid the interest of larger manufacturers it slowly evolves into a more corporate international trade show.

Our thanks go out to Inform Design and Relay Design for inviting us and taking care of us during our stay.
