Our Trip to Gubi & Kvadrat
Return to JournalBased in the rapidly growing seafront district of Copenhagen’s Nordhavn you can find Gubi's impressive 2,000 square metre showroom and office. You can't help but reflect on how perfect this is as a location for the companies headquarters as both Gubi and Nordhavn have gone through an astonishing transformation in recent years. This statement of a space takes you on a journey through the companies heritage working with designers of significant historical importance such as Greta Magnusson Grossman, Robert Dudley Best and Jacques Adnet. However this is not a company that only looks to the past, they boast collections from two of the most talented design duos in the industry Space Copenhagen and GamFratesi and the portfolios of these designers mean that Gubi has the ability to combine the past and the present to create a portfolio that not only already must be the envy of Europe but importantly still has so much potential to get better. Gubi, Nordhavn and Denmark are well and truly enjoying their time in the spotlight.
Whilst in Copenhagen we were sure to take in the Louisiana Museum for a walk in the Sculpture Park, an essential inclusion of any trip no matter the season. With panoramic views of the Sound and buildings blending into landscape the sculptures of the Park play important part of the museum’s collection. We were delighted to find our visit fell during a snow storm that created the most incredibly calming and peaceful atmosphere in which to explore and get lost.
