This week London Design festival once again took over the entire city to showcase the capitals creators, retailers and educators. There was a real emphasis on the number of industry leaders that were flocking to London to talk about its influence in global design.
We were privileged to be invited to a talk by Patricia Urquiola that discussed the role that design can play in exploring the identity of traditional male/female perceptions and how this barrier can be overcome by being playful with the design process.
There was a talk by the charmingly modest Piero Lissoni who spoke about the design process for his collaboration with Knoll to design a new sofa
There was also a very interesting discussion at Albion restaurant called From Plans to Plates where speakers discussed the brief of restaurant design exploring the challenges, practical considerations, budgets and theories surrounding the design processes of opening a new restaurant.
